We went to our daughter’s winter concert last week. This is her first year in the middle school and it is quite different than what I remember 4th grade middle school to be. The kids look older and scarier. Isn’t that sad? My daughter is very shy and quiet so she gets intimated pretty easily by older kids. The school goes from 4th-8th grade which I think is too large of a span. 4th graders with 8th graders just isn’t right.

The security has changed so much in schools since I was in school. I realize that this is a necessary evil in order to protect our children. I wonder when they will install the metor metal detectors in all of the entrances. This is a whole new and potentially scary world our kids have to live and I’m not sure how we got here …
