A Green Gift
With regard to having a ‘green Christmas’ we’ve been debating about what gifts to get our daughter. In past years we have bought a lot of junk toys that she ended up rarely playing with. The gifts that have seem to last the longest in terms of durability and maintaining a 10 year olds interests are electronics. Nintendo DS has been used for years. This year she wants her own digital camera so we are opting to get her a cheap digital camera that can withstand the abuses of a 10 year old. My daughter and her cousins like to play tag with the camera - whoever takes a picture of you is it. Pretty creative huh?!
I remember when I first got my first digital camera. I could never go back to film cameras. Believe it or not my father (who is pretty high tech) still doesn’t have a digital camera. Actually I think that would be a great gift for him and my step-mom. They are so bad - they still buy the disposable cameras - that isn’t very green! There are coupons and rebates available so that this doesn’t have to set us back a huge amount. A camera lasts all year round and is very green (in my opinion).
