Well after my last depressing post I thought I would try to focus on something pleasurable this time around. Feeling good and relaxing is what is important yet not always easy to remember and do. I believe that many people live their lives out of fear. The main fear is dying. Death - yuck. Nobody likes to think about it right? But there is great freedom in realizing (and internalizing) that death is just a myth. We don’t really die.
This is one that I continually struggle with. Do we come [...]

I stumbled upon this very cool “meditation room”. The sounds and visuals of water are great to meditate with. I find it so useful to meditate with music or sounds. I have never been very good with only using the breathing technique (counting or only focusing on breath). This is very peaceful and relaxing - [...]

This is what the Dalai Lama had to say about us entering the new millennium. Quite profound really …
Instructions for Life in the new millennium from the Dalai Lama:
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs: Respect for self, [...]

Chris and I have never been crazy about traveling. We tend to hunker down in our house and prefer not to leave. I am beginning to see the error in this. Part of living is experiencing different cultures, scenery, history, landscapes and people. Chris has actually been to a few places outside of the country [...]

I found this on the Abe Forum and thought it was a great list to refer back to when feeling like crap. 10 great ideas that are a recipe for a happy life.
Seek joy — first and foremost.
Seek reasons to laugh.
Seek reasons to offer words of praise — to self and others.
Seek beauty in nature, [...]
