Doo Struggles with a Paradox

"As you diminish contrast, you diminish your ability to decide, and as you diminish your ability to decide, you diminish your ability to focus, and as you diminish your ability to focus, you do away with your reason for existing."
-LOA
Doo: Whoa. Not sure how to take this. Feels to me that Buddhism strives to reduce contrast in all things. No right, no wrong only perspective. Hurry and enlighten me before my head implodes.
Chris: I’ve often struggled with these seemingly opposing stances.
Buddhism on the one hand suggests a detached, unconditional outlook on everything as the key to inner peace. The “Law of Attraction” on the other hand, indicates that you get whatever you consistently think about and desire.
While they appear to be contradictions, I believe finding a balance between the two is the key.
1. Find unconditional peace via Zen, meditation, willpower or whatever works for you.
2. Decide what you want. Make goals, get motivated, and take action… but NEVER at the expense of #1!!!
I’m personally still trying to get a stronger foundation in step one. At this point, I too easily allow my peace and stillness to be compromised by an over attachment to my desires.
I think our ultimate state as humans is to have a foundation of peace while simultaneously acting on our intentions. This is where life begins to flow in a seemingly effortless way.
So Doo, let us strive to embrace the paradox of both stillness and action.
